When Stanislav Hampala constructed his first houseboat in the courtyard and began to offer it to visitors, the use of the Baťa Canal was only being discussed and only few sluices were passable. Today, tourists make on his simple houseboats three-day to one-week trips (combined with cycling trips to the surroundings) and sail up to Strážnice or Slovakian Skalica. A three-day cruise costs – according to the season – CZK 6000 – 11.000 per boat, incl. bikes.
Hampala culinary specialties
are recognized by schoolchildren, pensioners or work collectives when sailing with the captain and tasting pork knees, wine, combined, for example, with a visit to the stud farm or basket-maker near the osier bed. Families will prefer to rent a motorboat with culinary basket. The price of one- to four-hour program varies from CZK 200 to 600 per person.
