The serviceberry tree was traditional healing tree not only for our ancestors, but also, for example, for Roman Dioskorides (60. A. D.) in particular for digestion disorders, today, it is recommended for diabetics, too. Ripened, sweet-sour and juicy fruit is used for the production of stewed fruit, jams, toppings, musts, tea, liquors and, above all, spirit. Volunteers from the civil association INEX White Carpathians will familiarize you with serviceberries the best during a visit of the Serviceberry Museum and educational tracks around the village. Serviceberry tasting can be combined with a visit to the observation tower on Travičná hill, shepherd’s hut or nearby White Carpathians’ meadows abounding with flowers – the Čertoryje reservation.
